And sometimes, we really need to define the word “stop.” Because it’s better to interpret that stop as quitting. And as quiet as it got?

I never quit.

Some of that time was spent hiding, cooking amazing foods, hanging out with the family, rescuing a couple more doggos. Some of it was spend daydreaming. And when the right idea landed, that time was spent noodling and putting together mood boards and yelling about clothing aesthetics and “BIG MOOD”s with the in-house teenager. All of which meant that I completed a new YA manuscript–and several new picture book ideas–which are in the process of revision and making the rounds. I’m feeling the urge to order reference books and art supplies, so something new will be coming in that vein as well. I shall try to be more thorough about blogging the process (and the yelling.)

I hope everyone is making through these rough times with their favorite words. Stay safe, stay healthy, and when all else fails, disappear into your favorite book. <3
