The Story Without Words

Once upon a time, there was a picture book author who dreamed of a mermaid and sideshow folk and the families that we choose for ourselves. And that picture book author tried time and again to put words to this story, but they all felt too heavy.

So she wrote out the story without words.

And now I am pleased to bits to announce that that wordless story–ODDITIES–will be illustrated by David Litchfield, author/illustrator of the gorgeous THE BEAR AND THE PIANO, and published by Paula Wiseman/S&S.

It’s a New Thing, and I’m very much looking forward to learning another aspect of the craft. And a huge thanks goes to David, who agreed to take this on. <3
